Overall Mission and Vision

We are connecting actors across the globe for collaborative and innovative engagement to collectively fight the effects of climate change.

About - Climate Change

The program is anchored by two key projects: GMACC – Global Project for Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change, and The Regional Sustainability Network (RSN). GMACC operates through the TH!NK GLOBAL Sustainability Network, connecting international and regional actors, institutions, and civil society organizations. This platform enables partners to collaborate on issues related to climate change, environmental sustainability, energy, and development, leveraging collective expertise for effective solutions.

RSN, on the other hand, focuses on dialogue and knowledge sharing across Sub-Saharan Africa. By linking organizations engaged in climate change, sustainability, and energy, RSN promotes collaboration and mutual learning, driving the creation of innovative and inclusive solutions to regional environmental challenges.

Global Project for Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change

Mission & Vision:
The TH!NK GLOBAL Sustainability Network aims at connecting actors at international and regional levels, institutions and organisations from civil society worldwide to tackle climate change. The network provides its partners with a platform to communicate, collaborate, and connect on issues related to climate change, environment, energy, and sustainable development.

The Regional Sustainability Network

Mission:
Fostering dialogue and knowledge sharing across Sub-Saharan Africa. Organizations working in the areas of Climate Change, Environmental Sustainability, and Energy were identified and linked together so as to foster dialogue, knowledge exchange, and learning from one another. It is the aim of RSN to work towards formulating innovative solutions in a collaborative and inclusive manner.

Objectives

  • Create a collective voice on sustainability issues;
  • Foster knowledge exchange and transfer;
  • Support the co-creation of innovative solutions.

Strategies

Key strategies to achieve these objectives include virtual and in-presence dialogue activities such as conferences, discussions, consultations or networking activities, educational programming, best-practice approaches, publications, strategy development, and study trips among others.

We focus on among others;
Natural Resource Management. In all our activities, we endeavor to preserve natural resources for future generations. Agroecology, Climate Change Adaptation, and Mitigation Strategies where we use innovative solutions to tackle climate change impacts in our region. Renewables – our focus is on shifting towards cleaner and green sources. Agroforestry, Climate Smart Agriculture, Ecopreneur ship, waste management as well as climate advocacy work among others.

Our Principles

For Africa by Africans
We understand our context better than anyone, and in this spirit, we pride ourselves on local solutions. We engage local experts whenever we can.
Connect and share
Members connect and share with a spirit of transparency and openness. We recognize that to drive greater change across African, we cannot work alone. We are willing to work closely together, to connect both within RSN and beyond, and to collaborate in our projects.
Diversity drives innovation
RSN recognises that new thinking is predicated on diverse experiences. The Network prides itself on having members from both diverse countries, contexts and expertise. This encourages cross-pollination of ideas between members, giving birth to new ways of working.
We follow through
We grow collectively when we all participate fully. We are present in meetings / activities and when we commit to actions, we see them through. We recognize and hold in high esteem the time and effort we all give up to take part in RSN.
In acting to learn
We understand that the best form of learning is through putting things into action. In view of this, when we meet and share lessons through the online platform, during the peer–to–peer exchange programs, or our physical meetings, we always identify what actions we can take and go ahead to implement them.
Information
The operating principles guide the way our Network is structured and how it will grow over time. The principles are derived from participants research and existing drivers for RSNs creation.
We are currently twelve members from eleven countries.
